Driving With Your Bulldog

My Bulldog was crazy when we were driving, so I knew he needed some lessons in car manners. To begin with, I taught him to sit before entering the car and to lie down in the back seat. I looped his leash through the seatbelt to keep him from hopping around the back of the car.
Once he was calm and lying down, I would start the car and we would just sit there listening to the radio for a few minutes.
Now that my Bulldog was still calm, I decided to back out of the driveway and slowly make my way down the block
If he started barking for any reason, I would pull the car over, get out and ask him to sit before exiting the car. It took us several drills before we made it around the block without incident.
